How many words per page does a printed book have?
A typeset trade paperback usually runs 250–350 words per page depending on trim size, font and leading: roughly 250 for 5×8, 300 for 6×9, 350 for 7×10. Word-processor pages are not printed pages — Word at Letter size holds ~500 words.
How many pages is 50,000 / 80,000 words?
At a 6×9 trim: 50,000 words ≈ 175 pages; 80,000 ≈ 275 pages, plus front and back matter. Shorter trims add pages, larger trims remove them.
Does page count matter for anything besides thickness?
